What are your hours?
We are open by appointment only for private events, which can be booked on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
We will endeavour to accommodate last minute bookings to the best of our abilities. Why wait? Book now.
How much does it cost?
$40 including HST per person. Minimum 4 people.
What is the minimum/maximum number of people?
We require a minimum of 4 people to book a private event. The maximum we can accommodate is 16 people.
How long does an event last?
It depends on the number of people in your party.
4 people = up to 1 hour 8 people= up to 2 hours 12 people= up to 3 hours 16 people= up to 4 hours
What happens when we get there?
Safety First! We will spend a couple minutes talking safety and provide some tips on how to throw an axe. You’ll have lots of time to practice throwing, and then we’ll organize a friendly tournament for your group!
How do I book my event?
A 50% deposit (by credit card) is required to reserve your event, with the remainder of your payment due when you come in. A cash deposit will be accepted..but keep in mind.. reservation is only secured once a deposit is paid. Please review our cancellation policy below.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 2 week’s notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel within 2 weeks of your appointment, the credit card on file will be charged a $100 late cancellation fee.
How do I pay?
We accept cash, credit card or debit. We can split up the payment between your group however you wish.
Is this safe?
Safety is priority #1 at Friendly City Axe Throwing. We will go through some rules and safety precautions with you when you arrive.
What should I wear?
Closed toed shoes (these are mandatory). Open toed footwear is not allowed. Dress comfortably. Wear loose or nonrestrictive clothing on your upper body. High heels are also not recommended. The space is kept fairly cool throughout winter – don’t worry, you’ll warm up – but you may wish to bring a sweater. Plaid always welcome!
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes! Friendly City Axe Throwing does not provide food or refreshments. You are welcome to bring in your own.
Can we drink alcohol?
If you would like to have alcohol at your event, you’ll need to obtain a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. A “no sale” permit for a private event costs $25 and requires a minimum of 10 days notice. Click here to download the SOP application or visit your nearest LCBO SOP Service Store. You will be required to show proof of your SOP when you arrive at Friendly City Axe Throwing. Sorry, no glass and no hard liquor allowed at Friendly City Axe Throwing. We will make an exception for wine bottles, but you will need to bring plastic cups to drink from. Intoxication will NOT be tolerated.
Can we play music?
Of course! The music is always on at Friendly City Axe Throwing, but if you want to bring your own music, we have a speaker that you can connect your mobile device to.
Can I bring my own axe?
No, we will provide the axes for you.
Can people in our group just watch (not throw axes)?
Spectators are welcome and do not have to pay, but your total group size cannot exceed 16 people.
Are kids allowed?
No, Friendly City Axe Throwing is 18+. Please leave the children at home.
Can I decorate the space?
Yes! You are welcome to decorate the space for your special event. Some restrictions may apply, please let us know and we’d be happy to chat!
Can I take pictures/video?
